The monthly REGGAE RETRO event has become a staple of the NYC reggae scene and attracts a diverse and loyal fan base from around the world.
REGGAE RETRO 1st Saturdays Dance Party features a blend of old and new reggae classics. It pays tribute to the legends of reggae music. Established in 2002, REGGAE RETRO is New York City's longest running reggae dance party and takes place on the 1st Saturday of each month. It features music from artists that include; Beres Hammond, Dennis Brown, Barrington Levy, Bob Marley, Morgan Heritage, Sly and Robbie, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Richie Spice, Toots and the Maytals, The Skatalites, Lee "Scratch" Perry and Tarrus Riley.
The REGGAE RETRO 1st Saturdays Dance Party was recently featured at the Brooklyn Museum's monthly 1st Saturdays event sponsored by Target. The overwhelmingly successful event attracted a record 6,500+ music lovers to the venue.
